One of the key features of Spawtz is that it is very easy to integrate with an existing website. There is also the added bonus that if your website becomes unavailable, the web pages are still accessible for your clients.

There are 3 key ways to display the Fixtures and Standings and all depends on what suits your circumstances the best.

  • Create a link for each venue
  • Group the divisions in each league
  • Create a direct link to each fixtures and standings page

Create a link for each venue

If you operate out of multiple venues, you will notice that the generic URL will lead you to choose a venue before proceeding. This may not be applicable if your website has its own ‘venue page’. To skip this venue selection step, and to link your ‘venue page’ to the leagues for just that venue, you can add a Venue Id to the URL - http://(yoursite).spawtz.com/ActionController/LeagueList?VenueId=2

(HINT* This venue ID is found by logging onto your online control panel and selecting ConfigàVenues.)

Group the divisions in each league

To provide a better snapshot of the fixtures, you can choose to display them together. This is handy if you want to show, for example, Division 1 and Division 2 on the same fixtures and respective standings pages. Contact your Spawtz representative to activate the 'GroupStandingsByLeague' configuration if this is what you believe will work for you best.

Create a direct link to each fixtures and standings page

To minimise the number of pages a user has to click through, there is the option of directing the user straight to the league fixtures or standings page. The best way to determine what URL to use is:

  1. Go to your external Spawtz page (http://(yoursite).spawtz.com/External/Fixtures/
  2. Click on the venue (if relevant)
  3. Find the league you are after
  4. Click on "Fixtures"
  5. Copy the URL from the address bar – this will give you the URL you need to use to direct users straight from your website to the fixtures list for that league
  6. Click on "standings" and use the URL for a separate link.

The unique IDs for each page will include Venue ID, League ID, Season ID and Division ID. Usually, all that will change between seasons will be the Season ID although repeating this process will be advisable to ensure you are directing the users to the right information.

It is very important to note that this URL will change for every season and league. You will need to check that you are redirecting users to the correct link when you set up a new season.
